June

When Patrick, Sarah, and Jay left New Mexico a few weeks ago, Elle stayed there for a week with Sarah's mom and step-dad.  Elle took swim lessons throughout the week with her godmother, Betsy.  She went to the Albuquerque Zoo and loved seeing the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.  While she was gone, we were able to get a few things done around the house in Kansas, including painting the master bathroom, the only room in the house that we hadn't painted (other than the laundry room).  We also attended a Sugarland concert, which was pretty darn awesome.  They are very talented and I think we both wouldn't mind seeing them again in the future.

Elle drove out with Sarah's mom and step-dad, who then spent a week in Kansas.  We had a pretty low-key week.  We did a lot of yard work, especially pulling weeds.  We went to the Topeka Zoo one day and out to eat a few times.  Last Monday Elle started swim lessons with the Lawrence Swim School, which she will participate in for six weeks.  It is a good opportunity for her to feel more comfortable in the water.  She has also started a tumbling class through the Lawrence Parks & Rec Dept.  The class meets once a week and the kids get to jump on a trampoline, use the balance beam, swing on the bars, etc.  It looks like a fun little class.

Patrick has been pretty busy working.  He has a bunch of swim meets this summer, so doing entries for them has required many hours.  Sarah's summer has been more low-key since she doesn't have a practicum.  She started her summer class, Loss & Grief, on Monday.  It looks like it is going to be a great class, jam packed full of information.
