This is a picture of Elle down on Mass. St. We went meandering down Mass St. last Sunday and there was a balloon artist. Elle got a grey can and he made a small mouse to go with the cat. We stopped by Penny Annie's and split a chocolate milkshake and a lemonade (per Elle's request).
Well, Happy Valentine's Day weekend! Patrick has been at a swim meet in town this weekend, so we haven't done anything exceptionally exciting. Elle colored some Valentines for Patrick, so we took them by the pool. For Valentine's Day we gave the kids some small gifts. Jay received a soccer ball and a bouncy ball. Elle got some clothes items, including a new pair of jellys. She not only loves shoes, but she particularly loves jellys! Since the year we were engaged on Valentine's Day (2004), Patrick and Sarah have had seafood pasta each year. We had linguini with shrimp and scallops this year. Patrick also made a tomato/mozzerella cheese/basil side. Patrick gave Sarah a pig charm for her Pandora bracelet and Sarah surprised Patrick with concert tickets to see Keith Urban in August. Should be fun!!

We have continued looking at preschools this week in preparation for the fall for Elle. We have pretty much narrowed our choice down to three. We looked at two of the three this past week and have a tour scheduled at the last preschool this week. I think we know which one we are going to send her to, but we want to see them all first. I can't believe that enrollment for some preschools begins next weekend. Sarah thought she was on the ball by looking at various preschools only to find out that it is a good thing she's been looking since enrollment is so early in the year.

Sarah has become more involved in the School of Social Welfare by joining the Practicum Planning Committee and attending the MSW Mutual Aid Society group meetings. The Mutual Aid Society was just formed this year, so it is exciting to be a part of this effort to bring about change in the school.
Our little man Jay will be celebrating his first birthday this coming Tuesday. We can't believe that it's been a year since he was born. He has been cruising around the furniture. He also stands in the middle of the room and smiles. We've been encouraging him to walk on his own. He's taken one step twice, but usually he just smiles and then plops down so he can speed crawl. Hopefully he'll be walking soon because he's a heavy guy!
Some of these pictures are from us out at the park. We had some beautiful, spring-like days, and we miss them! We wish spring would come back and stay! We had our windows open and heat off, but unfortunately that had to come to an end for now.
