One of the Aquahawk coaches recently accepted a job with another company and she will be moving to Baltimore. A number of the Aquahawk coaches and their family members took her out to eat on Friday evening at 23rd St. Brewery. It snowed while we were eating and when we came out there was a light dusting of snow. Not enough for accumulation, though. They said we're supposed to get snow today and tomorrow, but all we've seen so far is some icy rain.

Patrick attended a meet in Overland Park this weekend. He only had to have to for a half-day on Sunday, so he convinced the rest of the family to go to Kansas City with him. We stopped by Crate and Barrel, which was cool because Sarah had only seen the store online up until this point. After dropping Patrick at the pool, Sarah, Elle, and Jay went to a kids play place called Wonderscope Children's Museum. It looks like it used to be an elementary school. Each room has something different to do. We had so much fun we didn't even have time for 3 or 4 of the rooms! Some of the options for things to do were an H20 exhibit, a sandbox, and a craft room. We spent quite some time in the room for kids 2 and under so Jay could crawl around and get out some energy.

In what would be the cafeteria of the school there was a big lego activity area. There was also a contraption constructed of tubes. The kids sent brightly colored lightweight kerchiefs through and they would fly out the various ends. Elle loved it! The last room we played in had a puppet show stage and kid medical items, such as a squishy skeleton in which you had to put together the bones. Maybe next time we go we'll be able to go to the other rooms. After picking up Patrick we stopped by Red Robin. Patrick and Sarah were starving as they had not eaten since breakfast. Luckily, the kids had been snacking all day, so they weren't as hungry.

Tonight while Patrick was at swim practice, Sarah took the kids to the Lawrence Parents as Teachers playgroup. Patrick often takes the kids to the playgroups offered during the daytime, but this was nice as Sarah can't attend those. Elle had fun lacing items, washing babies, stringing big beads, and playing in general. Jay was all over the place and was just a happy guy-- what else would you expect, though?
The only other thing interesting to mention is that we started purchasing farm-fresh eggs. A lady at the Senior Center where Sarah is doing her practicum has a connection, so we signed up for one dozen eggs a week. We received our first dozen on Friday. The eggs are a pretty brown color. We haven't had a chance to try them yet as we were finishing off our old eggs first, but we hope they're yummy?
