Welcome 2009!

Well, our two weeks of vacation is coming to an end, much to our dismay.  It was wonderful spending time with family.  We had a relaxing week with Sarah's mom and step-dad.  The week included Christmas Part II, knitting, crocheting, playing with the kids, going to the dog park, shopping in KC, and watching football and basketball.  Elle's buils-a-bear, Dara, received the rest of her Cinderella and athlete outfits.  If you remember back in July when Elle picked out the original outfit, she opted for a swim suit with Cinderella shoes.  She now has athlete tennis shoes that match the suit and Cinderella glass slippers.  Sarah's mom has a fun Pandora charm bracelet and her mom started one for Sarah during their visit.  Her first charm is a Jayhawk!  Also during their visit, we made a few meals, one of which included brussels sprouts.  Sarah had no idea that they grew on stalks!

New Year's Eve was very quiet for us.  We watched Get Smart and went to bed before midnight.  How unexciting we are!  Dunkin, our chow/german shepherd cross celebrated his 4th birthday this past week and Guinness will have a birthday in a few weeks.

We must say that we are very disappointed by the Colts loss yesterday.  The day started so well with the Jayhawk basketball victory against Tennessee.  The Colts game was definitely a nail-biter that resulted in no good.  This week we get back into our normal routine.  Sarah goes back to work and begins her practicum.  However class doesn't start quite yet.  Patrick also returns to his normal practice schedule.
