Did Jay Shrink?

I've been meaning to mention this for the past couple of weeks and I don't think I have-- can you believe the price of gas lately?  It was very exciting when gas went down below $2.00.  I don't remember the last time gas was so cheap!  Currently in Lawrence gas prices are about $1.76.  The other day I filled up both cars during the course of the day and was able to fill them for less than $40!

This week Patrick went to the Coldplay concert in Kansas City with one of our good friends.  Patrick had seen Coldplay previously in Albuquerque a couple years ago.  He had fun at the concert and said the music rocked!  On Saturday one of the coaches Patrick works with gave us some extra KU football tickets that she had, so we ended up going to the game.  Our seats were right on the 50 yard line on the 12th row- awesome seats!  Unfortunately, it was really cold.  There were even snow flurries throughout the day.  At half time we went to a friend's house close to the stadium.   She offered to watch the kids, so just Sarah and Patrick went back for the second half.  We didn't stay the entire time, though, because the Jayhawks were playing poorly and we were frozen.

Jay had his 9 month check up this week.  He weighed 22.2 pounds, which places him at the 78th percentile.  He's only gained a pound since his 6 month check up which is hard to believe with how much he eats.  We're not quite sure what his current length is.  At his last check up he was 26.5 inches, which they said was the 99th percentile.  When our PA-C came into the room she said that Jay was now at the 5th percentile.  Sarah asked how he could go from the 99th percentile to the 5th percentile in a few months and the PA-C said that at Jay's 6 month check up, they had misentered his height as 26.5 feet, which would obviously place him in the 99th percentile!  However, his current height just doesn't make sense because they measured him at 26.25 inches, which means he would have shrunk!  We aren't concerned since he is so healthy, so hopefully at his 1 year check up will get better measurements.

On Saturday night Sarah got together with some of the people she used to work with at Brandon Woods, which was fun.  It was good to see all of them.  On Sunday we went up to the Legends to return some extra materials to Nebraska Furniture Mart and do a little Christmas shopping.  This is the first time that Elle wasn't scared by the dinosaurs at T-Rex.  She walked right up to them and told Jay not to be scared!
